Bucket List
For some time now, I have been wanting to write my own bucket list. I know you can’t live forever so I would like to do these things now while I can still enjoy them. I won’t be the one who sits around in a rocking chair waiting to die. At one time in my life I worked for retirement communities. It was so sad but I learned a lot about myself and life. So often, a couple would come in and they had scrimped and saved their entire lives to travel when they get old. Invariably, one would die before the other, or one would get sick. They never had the opportunity to travel and enjoy life. But they did have money to live in a retirement home! Whoop ti doo! That’s not living if that is all you do is WORK! I can’t live like that and decided I was going to live life to the fullest. My dad died of a heart attack at 50. I’m so fortunate to have done the things I have done already. I did more at 25 than most people do in a lifetime. So…………here’s my list, not in any paticular order. What’s your’s?

We “me and family” made a trip to Petra in Jordan in April 2007. it was a piece of art and fabulous.
We flew from Berlin to Amman- Jordan. We traveled at modern buses with a guide/driver.
Our route was Amman, Jerash, Ajloun , Petra , Dead Sea.
On the way we experienced architectural, archaeological, historical and cultural places: noble mosques, interesting museums, ancient castle, unique ruins, stone paths, the lowest point on earth with mineral salty water at Dead sea. Also we went to see how nomads live in their tents.
Before our trip we got a lot of warnings and surprising comments on Jordanians’ hostility toward Westerners. Anyhow in every city, town and village we felt ourselves very welcome and every person was polite and hospitable to us.
Our guide was the best possible guide. His knowledge of Jordan, the past and the present is enormous and his driving style is convincing, A trip with him was like a trip with a friend not with a formal guide. From my experience, http://libertytourism.com/Programs.html is one of the best tours at Jordan where all you may need and ask on one place.

Thanks for your comment. I was so disappointed. In 2004, I had Jordan on my Around-the-World Itinerary. I missed 3-bombs (Bali, Deli, and Amman)on this trip by just a few days. I was getting word how unsafe Jordan was at the time, especially for a single American woman traveling alone. I canceled that part of my trip, including Istanbul. Of course now, I regret it and wonder when I will be able to get to that part of the world again! I so wanted to see the ruins of Petra and float in the Dead Sea.
May I ask how you heard about me? It helps my marketing efforts if I know how gentlemen find me! I really appreciate your comment and hope more of my readers will interact! Do you live in Berlin?
I just added traveling the Orient Express to my BUCKET LIST. I’ve been wanting to do this for years. I love trains!
Travel is my passion, but the older I get the more difficult it is to travel alone!
I’m hoping with the new site and some future changes, (a tour site within my elizabethenchanting site) I will get some takers as a travel companion!
