From Albuquerque to Sedona

August 29th, 2008 by Admin

I poked around and took my time driving from ABQ to Sedona last week.  It took 6-hours to drive the 350-miles, as I stopped at some of the tacky souvenir shops along the way.  The good news, I didn’t buy anything!  I mainly need to stop for potty breaks and to stretch as I get rather tight driving in that little Miata.  Instead of it riding like a tin can, now that I have replaced the shocks and struts, it’s upgraded to a ride in an aluminum cylinder!  Especially when driving at 85 MPH.  The drive was beautiful, lots of road construction but thankfully no delays.  I checked into the Ammara Resort right in Uptown Sedona.  The views from the pool and outdoor restaurant were stunning! I made it in time for free wine tasting, which actually turned out to be not a tasting, but free wine.  At the bar, I met a young mother traveling alone from Boston.  I was tired and went to bed early.  The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever laid in!
